CACC Awards: Cross Country, Women’s Soccer Earn Weekly Honors

Philadelphia, PA- Three Philadelphia University student-athletes earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly honors for contests ending on Sunday, November 9th.

Freshman runner Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) earned CACC Co-Runner of the Week honors after she made CACC history, becoming the first conference runner to earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East All-Region honors at the NCAA East Regional in Boston.  Simonetti ran to 12th-place overall (23:43.40), which broke the 6K PhilaU school-record.

Junior runner Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) was awarded the CACC Runner of the Week after taking 17th overall at the NCAA East Regional in Boston in the men's 10K (32.25.2).  His time set a new school-record in the 10K event. 

Women's soccer senior Brianna Reinford (Gilbertsville, PA/ Pottsgrove) earned CACC Player of the Week Honorable Mention as she scored two goals in the conference tournament as her Lady Rams finished as runners-up.  She was named to the CACC All-Tournament team for her efforts.
