Gibbs, Finn earn CACC Top XIV Award

CALDWELL, N.J. – Philadelphia University men’s basketball sophomore Andre Gibbs (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) and women’s basketball senior Megan Finn (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) have been recognized for their success in the classroom as they have earned the Central Athletic Conference Conference’s (CACC) Top XIV Award.

This is the inaugural year of the Top XIV Award—which is modeled after the NCAA Elite 89 Award. The Top XIV Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at a CACC championship finals site. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and be a member of the active roster.

Gibbs is an accounting major with a 3.635 GPA. On the court, Gibbs is leading the CACC in free throw percentage (88.5 percent), fifth in minutes per game (36.7), seventh in assists (104) and eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2). He is adding 10.8 points per game.

An accounting/finance major, Finn has a GPA of 3.969. Finn sits fifth in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8) and sixth in assists (94). She is contributing 6.7 points per game.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams are in the semifinal round of the CACC Tournament, which will take place on Friday, March 7 at Caldwell College.

The men (23-6) face the University of the Sciences at noon. The women (20-7) take on host Caldwell at 5 p.m. Both games will be streamed on College TV Ticket and can be found here.
