Jimmy Reilly has been a member of Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee’s staff since May 2007.
As the top assistant for the Rams' men's basketball program, Reilly, who also serves as the athletics department’s coordinator of conference events, has a hand in numerous aspects of the men’s basketball program including recruiting, scouting, fundraising, alumni relations, community service, logistics, and academic support.
Reilly is responsible for the Rams’ strength and conditioning program, creating a guard development program, on-court instruction, and in-game defensive adjustments.
Since Reilly’s arrival on campus, the Rams appeared in nine NCAA Tournaments, won five Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference titles and claimed eight CACC South Division crowns.
Before coming to the school, Reilly served as an assistant coach at Neumann University for two seasons. With the Knights, he was in charge of scouting, game-plan preparation, recruiting, individual player workouts and in-game defensive adjustments.
From September 2003 until May 2005, Reilly was an assistant boy’s varsity coach at West Catholic High School. Reilly—who was also the head JV coach—was in charge of scouting and assisted in running summer camps for boys and girls in grades four through nine.
Reilly began his coaching career at Ursinus College, his alma mater. In his two years as an assistant, he was helped with scouting, game-planning, and individual workouts. Reilly also helped give prospective student-athletes tours of the campus.
As a player for the Bears, Reilly was a two-year team captain and the team’s MVP as senior. He led Ursinius in assists during his junior and senior seasons. Reilly graduated from Urisinus in 1999 with a B.S. in communcations.
