Gornowski resigns as sports information director

PHILADELPHIA – Paul Gornowski has resigned as the sports information director at Philadelphia University to become the director of athletic communications at Bryn Athyn College.

Since his arrival at Philadelphia University in October of 2011, Gornowski handled the media relations and game-day duties for 17 varsity sports. He was the primary contact for men's basketball head coach Herb Magee's 1,000th career victory, which received national coverage from numerous media outlets—including ESPN, USA Today, the Associated Press, and Sirius/XM Radio.

He served as the host SID for four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference cross country championships and the 2015 men's and women's basketball tournament. Gornowski also coordinated two nationally televised NCAA Division II National Basketball Games of the Week.

In addition to his SID duties, Gornowski was the East Region coordinator for the Division II Commissioners Conference Association women's basketball and baseball teams and the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team for men's rowing. For the last two years, Gornowski was a member of the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis East Region Regional Advisory Committee.

A search for Gornowski's replacement is currently underway.
