Junius Johnson, known as the high-jumping sensation, was a forward for the Philadelphia “Textile” University men’s basketball program from 1960 until 1964. He is the University’s second-leading rebounder with 1,357 and ranks in the top twenty with 1,591 points during his college career.
As a junior, he was the team’s number one rebounder with 441 rebounds in 1962-63 and the NCAA’s third rebounder. In 1961-62, he led the team with 377 rebounds.
Johnson served as co-captain of the team his senior year and was selected at the team's MVP in his junior and senior year. The team was invited to the post season tournament three of the four years he attended the University.
