Wilmington, DE- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (10-3-3, 8-1 CACC) picked up a 5-0 road win over the
Goldey-Beacom College Lightning ( 2-11, 1-8 CACC) on Wednesday
afternoon.
Freshman midfielder Melissa Copeland (Islip,
NY/ East Islip) broke the game open in the 12th minute
off a loose ball in the box, and nearly two minutes later sophomore
forward Dana Rokoszak (Hillsborough, NJ/
Hillsborough) added another score to give the Lady Rams a 2-0
tally.
Freshman forward Lauren Pfister (Moorestown,
NJ/ Moorestown) made it 3-0 with 10 minutes remaining in the first
half off a hard rebound.
In the second half, freshman forward Nicole
Grimm (Stroudsburg, PA/ Stroudsburg) added a score of her
own off a cross in the 57th minute, assisted by Pfister.
Junior forward/midfielder Natalie Vespe (Acto,
NJ/ St. Joseph) added the final score with 15 seconds remaining to
make the final score 5-0.
Sophomore goalie Rebecca Della Peruta
(Hammonton, NJ/ Hammonton) made four saves on the day, while GBC
keeper Kristin Degenhardt had 20 stops for the Lightning.
The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday (10/24) when they
travel to Dominican for a 12:00 p.m. contest.
