Millersville, PA- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (2-2, 1-0 CACC) dropped a non-conference contest 68-41 at
Millersville University (4-0) on Saturday. PhilaU got their
top performance from senior forward Kate Brennan
(Stratford, NJ/ Sterling) who had nine points and two boards.
MU held the Lady Rams to just 21.4% shooting from the floor in
the second half to their 36%. PhilaU also turned the ball
over 36 times, 12 more than the Marauders.
The Lady Rams started the game off trailing as MU spurred ahead
20-9 at the 7:53 mark. Two foul shots by PhilaU senior guard
Taylor Magnus (Plymouth Meeting, PA/
Plymouth-Whitemarsh) cut the MU advantage to 36-18 at the
break.
PhilaU senior center Jess Romano (Horsham, PA/
Hatboro-Horsham) was held to just seven points and seven rebounds
in the contest, well off her season average of 17.8ppg./8.0 rpg.
It was much of the same in the second half, as MU's Jenna Craig
led all scorers with 13 points/ 10 rebounds on the night. The
MU lead would surge to as many as 29 on a layup by Miesha Cousins
at 7:03 (60-31).
PhilaU senior guard Nina Brascetta
(Philadelphia, PA/ Archbishop Ryan) added seven points and two
rebounds as the Lady Rams faltered 68-41 as the final.
The squad returns to action on Wednesday (12/2) in their
home-opener vs. West Chester at 6:00 p.m. in the Gallagher Athletic
Center.
