Philadelphia, PA- The #1 seeded Philadelphia
University women's soccer (13-4-3, 10-2 CACC) picked up a 2-0 win
over the #8 seeded Felician College Falcons (6-9-2, 4-5-2 CACC) on
Tuesday afternoon. The victory advances PhilaU to the CACC
Semifinals on Thursday (11/5) at 11:00 a.m. at Wilmington
University, where they will face #4 Holy Family, a 1-0 winner over
#5 Wilmington.
Admission will be charged for all Conference Tournament games.
Fee will be $6 for adults, $3 for children and seniors and
students with ID. Children under the age of 3 will be
admitted for free.
At 63:31 in the second half, PhilaU freshman forward
Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) evaded several
Falcon players from 18 yards out, spun and ripped a shot into the
upper left corner to give the Lady Rams a 1-0 lead and the eventual
game-winner.
With just under 14 minutes to go, sophomore forward
Gabrielle Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts Neck) knocked
a goal in off a saved shot from junior forward/midfielder
Natalie Vespe (Acto, NJ/ St. Joseph) to make it
2-0.
PhilaU freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski
(Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had eight saves for the Lady Rams, while FC's
Allie Couzo made 20 stops on the day.
