Brennan Sisters Key PhilaU's 114-104 3OT Victory

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University women's basketball senior guard Amanda Brennan (Stratford, NJ/ Sterling) sunk a career-high 39 points on Senior Day to lead her Lady Ram's (16-8, 11-4 CACC) to a 114-104 triple-overtime victory over the Dominican College Chargers (14-10, 11-3 CACC) on Saturday afternoon.  The game was the first triple-overtime contest played on Herb Magee Court and the most points scored in a single game in the program's history.

A. Brennan's 39 points included going 9-20 from beyond the arc.  The Chargers got a game-high 43 points and seven rebounds from Althea Chambers.

Regulation saw 12 lead changes between the two teams, as DC outshot the Lady Rams (46%-39%) for the game.  PhilaU held the rebound advantage 52-43.

PhilaU junior guard Kate Brennan (Stratford, NJ/ Sterling) hit her only three-ball of the afternoon with four seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 71-71 and send it into overtime.  She finished with season-high 21 points and career-high 10 boards.

In the first overtime K. Brennan scored eight of PhilaU's 12 points, as they led by as many as six but the Chargers tied it 81-81 free-throws from Chambers.  K. Brennan again scored at a key moment- on a driving lay-up with 19 seconds remaining, but Chambers answered with a lay-up of her own to send the game into a second OT tied 83 all.

DC would lead by as many as four points in the second OT, but PhilaU sophomore guard Stephanie Agger (N. Cape May, NJ/ Lower Cape May) missed her second free-throw, and junior center Jess Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) grabbed the miss and put up a bucket with five seconds remaining to even the score at 97 a piece and go into the final OT.  Romano had 29 points and 11 boards, while Agger finished with a career-high 19 points and a season-high seven rebounds for PhilaU.

The Lady Rams opened up the third overtime on a 10-3 run and PhilaU's A. Brennan went 5-5 from the charity stripe in the final minute to secure the 114-104 home court win.

PhilaU returns to action on Tuesday, February 17th at Chestnut Hill College at 6:00 p.m.
