Lacrosse Knocked Down 15-10 at Bentley

Waltham, MA- The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse squad (0-2) fell 15-10 at Bentley College (1-0) on Sunday afternoon.  PhilaU was led by freshman Taylor Peltzer's (Holland, PA/ Archbishop Wood) four goals and two ground balls. 

Bentley jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the contest, but PhilaU got goals from sophomore Michelle O'Hanlon (Springfield, PA/ Springfield) and Peltzer to even it at 13:43 in the first period.  BC went on to score five unanswered goals until Peltzer knocked in another score at 1:30. 

The Lady Rams trailed 7-3 at the half, and were outshot 36-23 for the contest. 

Peltzer notched another goal at 27:00 in the second half, but Bentley answered with two more scores.  PhilaU then put together four consecutive zingers from sophomore Jennifer Sica (Long Valley, NJ/ W. Morris Central), junior Kathleen Maurer (Rochester, NY/ Our Lady of Mercy), sophomore Danielle Coffaro (Webster, NY/ Webster Schroeder) and O'Hanlon to get within one (9-8) at 17:15.    

BC would go on to outscore the Lady Rams 6-2 in the remainder of the match-up as PhilaU fell 15-10 in non-conference action. 

Lady Ram junior goalie Katherine Sullivan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/ Lenape) had 18 saves, while Christina Guglielmo made 10 stops for BC. 

PhilaU returns to action on Saturday, March 14th at Bloomsburg at 1:00 p.m.
