senior Jessica Romano (Horsham, PA/
Hatboro-Horsham) chipped in a game-high 25 points in carving out a
80-68 win over the Georgian Court University Lions (3-8, 1-3 CACC)
on Thursday night. The win extends PhilaU's overall record to
6-6 (and a perfect 4-0 in conference play).
The Lady Rams trailed early on, but a 25-15 run through the last
10 minutes of the first half gave the visitors a 40-39 advantage at
the break.
PhilaU extended their run in the second half, getting help from
senior forward Kate Brennan (Stratford, NJ/
Sterling) who tallied 23 points on the night (5-5 with the
three-ball). The maroon and gray also got a boost with a
strong defensive effort from junior forward Ashley
Gaskins (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin).
The Lions were led by Dana Wert's 21 points.
PhilaU returns home to the Gallagher Athletic Center in their
next contest on Saturday (1/9) in a 2 p.m. pairing with Felician
College.
