Women's Tennis Shines on Sunday, Beating St. Thomas Aquinas 6-3

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's tennis team (6-5, 3-3 CACC) captured their third-straight win Sunday afternoon, topping St. Thomas Aquinas 6-3 in a non-conference match at the Abraham J. Salaman'58 Courts.

In singles play, PhilaU's # 1, Isabella Espinosa, defeated Kristen Schinf 6-3, 6-1, starting a run of four consecutive victories for the Rams. Sayre Limburg followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Danielle Bicknell. Senior Daniela Rodriguez topped Jayden Brignola 6-2, 6-3. Finally, Brittany Villa sealed the Rams' triumph with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Erin Maher.

PhilaU's day started with a pair of doubles wins as the # 1 duo of Espinosa/Limburg, both freshmen, defeated St. Thomas Aquinas' Bicknell/Schinf 8-2. Rodriguez/Villa, the Rams' # 2 team, also won by a score of 8-2, defeating the twosome of Maher/Sam Vinvi.

The Rams return to the court, and conference play, on Tuesday (10/12) when they square off at Holy Family University. The match is set for a 3:30 p.m. start.
