West Chester, PA- The Philadelphia University women's basketball team (1-1) suffered their first loss of the season in a 73-63 contest at West Chester University (4-1) on Tuesday evening. PhilaU had both high scorers of the game however, as junior Stephanie Agger and sophomore Kristen Blye each tallied 19 points.
Field goal shooting (WCU led 48%-44%) and rebounding (WCU led 41-33%) were the difference-makers in the game.
WCU held a slim 29-28 lead going into the half.
PhilaU's only lead of the 40 minutes came at 15:33 in the second half on a bucket from Blye, to give the visitors a brief 37-36 advantage. PhilaU's Blye added nine rebounds and two assists.
WCU was led by 14 points each from Allison Hostetter and Megan Stewart.
PhilaU returns to action after the holiday on Sunday (11/28) at home vs. Millersville at 1 p.m.
