Philadelphia, PA- Despite a team-high 11 points
from junior guard Ashley Gaskins (Harrisburg, PA/
Central Dauphin), the Philadelphia University Lady Rams (15-11,
13-5 CACC) fell t the #2 NCAA DII East Region Holy Family
University Tigers (25-1, 18-0 CACC) on Friday afternoon at the
Campus Center.
Gaskin's bucket just two minutes in would give PhilaU a fleeting
2-0 lead, as HFU went on a 12-0 binge to take a healthy advantage
they would never hand back.
At the stat line, PhilaU was outrebounded 62-26 and shot just
28% from field goal range, making it difficult to pull ahead.
PhilaU's leading scorer, senior center Jessica
Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) was held to just
nine points and five boards on the night. HFU was up 38-14 at
the half.
HFU's Erin Mann led all scorers with 17 points in just 15
minutes of action.
The Tigers held their largest lead of the game at 43-14, just
one minute into the second half on a Christine McCollum trey as her
squad rolled to another CACC victory.
