Women's Hoops Runs Away with 67-60 Win at WilmU

New Castle, DE- The Philadelphia University women's basketball team (12-9, 8-6 CACC) led for all 40 minutes in a 67-60 conference win over the Wilmington University Wildcats (2-19, 2-12 CACC) on Thursday night at the Pratt Center.  The Rams were led by senior guard Taylor Magnus (17 points, six rebounds), while WilmU was paced by Ashley Davison's 17 points and five boards.

Four PhilaU starters were in double digits, as the squad outshot the 'Cats 44%-35% from field goal range and 45%-36% from the three.

PhilaU junior guard Stephanie Agger started things off with a steal and a bucket on the Ram's first possession of the night.  Agger had 11 points and five steals in the win.  A layup by PhilaU freshman guard Megan Finn with 56 seconds remaining in the first period gave the Ram's their largest lead of the half at 34-24. 

PhilaU carried a nine point lead (34-25) into the locker room at halftime.

Ram junior forward Christine Wooding hit the first PhilaU deuce of the second stanza, as she recorded a 14 point, 10 rebound double-double.  Sophomore forward Kristen Blye netted two at 15:24 to give PhilaU their largest lead of the night (44-31) and it would be all Ram from that point on.  Blye added 14 points and six boards as the Rams won it 67-60. 

The next gig for the PhilaU women will be a Saturday (2/12) showing at Bloomfield College at 1 p.m.
