NYACK, N.Y. – A 21-5 run over the first eight minutes of the second half helped propel the Philadelphia University women's basketball team to a 78-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over host Nyack Saturday afternoon in Bowman Gym.

Senior guard Taylor Peltzer (Holland, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the game-changing surge—which snapped a 26-26 halftime deadlock—with seven of her season-high 17 points. Sophomore guard Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) added six of her game-total 16 points during the run.

The Rams' (5-3, 3-1 CACC) defense was strong as well as the Warriors (0-10, 0-5 CACC) were held to 2-of-14 shooting and committed four turnovers.

Nyack got as close 12 when Jasmine Miller knocked down a three-pointer with 9:31 left to make the score 51-39.

Peltzer drained one of her two three-pointers at the 7:35 mark to spark an 11-2 run that extended the Philadelphia advantage to 64-43.

Junior guard Megan Finn (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) gave the Rams a game-high 22-point lead with a basket with 3:47 to go to make the score 70-48. Finn finished the contest with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Senior forward Kristen Blye (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown E.) recorded 16 points and nine rebounds for the Rams. Freshman center Tori Arnao (Newtown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) contributed 13 points and six boards.

Nyack's Khamari Tellis had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Rams shot 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from the field and 86.7 percent (13-of-15) at the free throw line. The Warriors connected on 33.3 percent (22-of-66) of their shots and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) of their free throws.

Nyack outrebounded Philadelphia 41-33, including a 19-9 offensive rebounding edge.

Philadelphia's next contest comes on Thursday, Dec. 13 at CACC foe Georgian Court at 6 p.m.
