PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University Department of Athletics and the women's basketball alumni are hosting a happy hour for the Thomas R. Shirley Sr. Scholarship Fund at JD McGillicuddy's in Roxborough on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The happy hour, which will run from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., is $40—$20 going toward an open bar, which includes hot roast beef sandwiches; pasta; well drinks; and domestic beer,  and $20 going to the Scholarship Fund. JD McGillicuddy's is located at 473 Leverington Avenue in Roxborough.

Philadelphia University director of athletics and women's basketball head coach Tom Shirley started the Fund as a tribute to his late father. The scholarship is need-based and earmarked for a resident of Roxborough, Manayunk or East Falls.
