Lady Rams' season ends with a 62-42 loss to Caldwell in the CACC Tournament

CALDWELL, N.J. -- Kristen Blye poured in a game-high 24 points in a losing effort as the Philadelphia University women's basketball team had its season come to an end after a 62-42 loss to Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament quarterfinal Saturday night in the Newman Center.

Philadelphia, who entered the contest as the southern division three seed, concludes the year with an overall record of 20-9. It was the 17th 20-win season under head coach Tom Shirley. Caldwell, the north's second seed, improves to 17-10 and will take on Holy Family in a CACC semifinal on Friday, March 2.

Center Christine Wooding added 12 points and a career-high seven blocks for the Lady Rams in tonight's contest. Wooding, the 2011-12 CACC player of the year, finishes her career in 10th place on the Philadelphia University all-time scoring list with 1,304 points. She is second in career blocks (180) and eighth in career rebounds (749).

It was also the final game for guard Stephanie Agger who had three steals, two assists and two points against the Cougars. Agger will leave Philadelphia 27th in career points (1,078), third in career steals (223) and sixth in career assists (400).

Jeanette Anderson had a double-double consisting of 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Cougars. Kaitlyn Lambert added 13 points.

Caldwell shot 39.7 percent (27-of-68) from the field, while Philadelphia connected at a 25.0 percent (15-of-60) clip. The Cougars also controlled the boards, 56-33. The Lady Rams committed a season-low eight turnovers.
