ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was defeated by Wayne State University, 7-2, on the first day of its spring break trip on Monday.

Manoli Sgouros and Eric Guerrero earned the Philadelphia (2-6) points with wins in singles play. Sgouros picked up a hard-fought win against  Michael Fitzgerald in the No. 2 flight, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6(7-5). Guerrero's win came in the No. 5 match, 6-3, 6-3 over Oscar Gamarra.

The Rams are back in action Tuesday, March 13 against Stonehill at Liberty High School in Kissimmee, Fla.
