Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was defeated by visiting NYIT, 6-3, in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon in the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
Kyle Burke and Manoli Sgouros picked up a point in doubles play by edging out Vojislav Pecikoza and Pedro Peixoto, 9-7, in the No. 1 match.
Eric Guerrero earned the second Philadelphia (2-5) point by knocking off Julian Marcon in the No. 5 flight, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. The final point came from Ryan Christoper who squeaked past Pecikoza in the No. 4 singles match, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5).
The Rams head to Florida for their spring break trip. The trip begins with a match against Wayne State on Monday, March 12.
