Women's soccer falls to Felician in overtime, 1-0

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was handed a tough 1-0 overtime road loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Felician Saturday afternoon at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

Philadelphia, who went to overtime for the third straight game and the sixth time this season, is now 4-8-3 overall and 3-5-2 in the CACC. The Rams are 1-2-3 in games that go beyond 90 minutes.

Felician (3-7-5, 2-3-5 CACC) scored the match-winning goal on a free kick 4:29 into overtime. Alysia Arcona got her head on the free kick taken from the left side of the net by Kristen Toropiw.

The Rams owned a 15-10 shot advantage, and got six of their 15 attempts on target.

Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) made four saves for Philadelphia. Felician's Julia Sheridan stopped six shots, including four in the first 45 minutes.

Philadelphia returns home to face Wilmington (Del.) in a CACC contest on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
