PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's tennis had its fall season come to a close with a 5-1 loss to Concordia (N.Y.) in the semifinal round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon at Chestnut Hill College.
Philadelphia—the tournament's number four seed—wraps up the fall with a 13-4 overall record. Top-seed Concordia is now 9-0 overall and will face Goldey-Beacom for the conference title on Sunday, Oct. 26 at noon.
Olivia Amato (Hartford, Conn./Cheshire) recorded the Rams' lone point with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Nicole Stuhr in the No. 6 singles match. Amato improved to 7-6 in singles play.
The duo of Emily Chung (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) and Anna Kudriavtceva (Yekaterinburg, Russia/Grammar School No. 13) nearly took a very tight No. 2 doubles match, but fell two points shy in a 9-8 (7-5) loss to Alla Kravchuk and Valeriia Cheban.
