Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – Guard Najah Jacobs (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) became the 29th player in Philadelphia University women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points as the Rams defeated visiting Lincoln (Pa.) University 90-77 in a non-conference contest Tuesday night in the Gallagher Center.

Jacobs, who recorded a game-high 22 points, reached the 1,000-point plateau by hitting two free throws with 14:05 remaining to give Philadelphia (6-1) a 51-47 advantage.

Guard Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) tied her season-high in scoring with 15 points and dished out a season-high six assists. Forward Alex Heck (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) poured in 13 points, while guard Bria Young (Philadelphia, Pa./Prep Charter) had 12 points and a career-best seven assists.

Forward Tori Arnao (Newtown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) recorded her third double-double for the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Jackie McCarron (Harleysville, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) posted 11 points and nine rebounds, both career-highs.

After Lincoln (5-1) tied the game at 47 on an Amani Clark jumper with 14:54 to play, Philadelphia would go on a 17-7 run over the next 4:34 to take the first double-digit lead of the night (64-54) on a Young bucket. The Rams were 8-of-9 from the free throw line during the run. Arnao led the surge with six points.

The Lions closed the margin to 64-59 thanks to a Mieana Gaines jumper and a Jailen Murphy 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions. It would be the closest Lincoln would get as Philadelphia got a three-point play from Young and three Schacker 3-pointers during a 12-2 run that widen the gap to 84-68 with 4:17 left.

Philadelphia's lead grew to a game-high 18 points (90-72) on a McCarron free throw at the 2:05 mark.

Courtney Smith led Lincoln with 11 points and three rebounds.

Philadelphia shot 50.0 percent (31-of-62) overall and 63.9 percent (23-of-36) from the charity stripe. The Lions hit 49.2 percent (29-of-59) of their shot attempts and 50.0 percent (11-of-22) of their free throws.

Philadelphia will host Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference battle on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
