Box Score WILMINGTON, Del. – The Philadelphia University women's basketball team closed out its regular season with a 76-58 setback to Goldey-Beacom in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Tuesday night in the Jones Center.
Philadelphia ends the season with a 19-7 overall record and a conference mark of 17-2. The Rams earned the number one overall seed for the CACC Tournament, which begins with a home game against Dominican (N.Y.), the fourth seed from the north, on Saturday, March 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Center.
Goldey-Beacom is now 13-13 overall, 10-9 in CACC play, and will be fourth seed from the southern division for the conference tournament.
Junior guard Najah Jacobs (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) went 9-for-11 at the free throw line on her way to a team-high 19 points for the Rams.
Junior guard Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) added 11 points, while sophomore guard Bria Young (Philadelphia, Pa./Prep Charter) contributed 10 points.
The Rams shot 32.4 percent (22-of-68) from the field and 11.1 percent (2-of-18) from 3-point range. Philadelphia committed only seven turnovers, the team's lowest turnover total of the season.
Brianna Richmond-Peters paced the Lightning—who led from wire-to-wire—with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Jasmyne Lewis chipped in with 12 points.
Goldey-Beacom shot 47.6 percent (30-of-63) for the game, including a solid 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from behind the arc. The Lightning also owned a 55-32 rebounding advantage.
