WATERBURY, Conn. – The Philadelphia University women's basketball team won its program-record 13th consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest as it hung on to defeat host Post University 81-78 Saturday afternoon in the Drubner Center.

The Rams, winners of their last seven contests, improve to 15-5 overall and are still perfect in CACC play with a 13-0 mark. Post is now 8-12 overall, 8-6 against the conference.

Junior guard Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) knocked down five 3-pointers, tying her career-high, to finish with a game-high 19 points. Schacker scored Philadelphia's final eight points during a 21-5 run that turned a 59-54 deficit into a 75-64 advantage.

Sophomore guard Bria Young (Philadelphia, Pa./Prep Charter) had a strong game coming off the bench. In 32 minutes of action, Young scored a career-high 18 points, on 7-of-10 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out three assists. Sophomore forward Tori Arnao (Newtown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) picked up her team-leading eighth double-double of the season with a 15-point, 13-rebound effort.

Senior guard Megan Finn (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) added 12 points.

Facing a 50-44 deficit 1:04 into the second half, Young would bookend a 10-4 Philadelphia run to tie the score at 54. Post quickly regained a five-point advantage (59-54) thanks to a Raven Wright-James basket at the 15:54 mark and a Liz Falcigno trey 26 seconds later.

On Philadelphia's next trip down the floor, Arnao made a layup with 15:02 remaining to spark the Rams' 21-5 run that would put them ahead for good. Philadelphia shot 7-of-8 from the field, 4-of-4 from three, and Post was 2-of-12 shooting the ball during the run.

Post closed the gap to two points (77-75) with a brief 5-0 surge, capped by a Wright-James basket with 3:23 left. The Eagles closed within 79-78 with 21 seconds remaining on 1-for-2 trip to the free throw line Jacquelynne Pugh.

Junior guard Najah Jacobs (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) increased the Philadelphia lead to 81-78 at the :06 mark by sinking a pair of free throws. The win was sealed when Aubrey Latham's game-tying 3-point attempt with five seconds to go missed the mark.

The Rams erased a seven-point first half deficit with a 13-4 run to go ahead 31-29 with 6:40 left. Post went on an 11-5 run over the final 3:30 to take a 48-44 lead at the break.
