Box Score HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team was upended by No. 1 Adelphi 19-4 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at Hofstra University.
Corinne Etter (Millville, N.J./Millville) and Elizabeth Marrosu (Flemington, N.J./Immaculata) each scored a pair of second-half goal for the Rams (0-2). Allison Cassidy (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) posted four ground balls, while Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) had three draw controls.
Adelphi (3-0) five goals from Jacqueline Jahelka and seven points (two goals, five assists) out of Alexa Froccaro. Rachel O'Brien, Danielle Montano, and Chandley Borges all contributed two goals and three assists. The Panthers scored the first 12 goals of the contest.
Philadelphia's Maria Matteis (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) stopped four saves in the first half, while Felicia Branagan (Millville, N.J./Millville) made four stopped in the final 30 minutes.
Taylor Hayes earned the win for the Panthers—who played three people in goal.
Adelphi owned a 33-10 shot advantage.
Philadelphia returns to action with a non-conference tilt at Millersville on Thursday, March 12 at 3 p.m.
