PHILADELPHIA - Ben Nardi of the Thomas Jefferson University men's cross country and track teams made headlines in the academic realm recently, earning a prestigious Honor Award in the American Society of Landscape Architects' student competition.

Nardi is the first Jefferson student to take top honors in the national competition. His applied-studios project involved an area of land near the Overbrook Environmental Education Center in West Philadelphia.
