LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (6-2) scored the last six points of the contest to come back and defeat host Lincoln (Pa.) 70-69 in a non-conference game on Saturday.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams trailed 7-6 in the opening quarter before going on a 9-1 run to take a 15-8 lead. Four different players contributed to the surge. Lincoln followed with eight of the next 10 points to close to within one (17-16) before a jumper by
Maeve McCann made it 19-16 Jefferson after one.

The Rams opened the second period with 11 of the first 12 points to increase the margin to 13 (30-17).
Haley Meinel scored six points and
Emily Keehfuss added five. With the score 34-22, the Lions tallied six in a row to get within six (34-28) with 1:48 to go. The teams traded three-pointers and the score was 37-31 at halftime.

Jefferson posted the first three points of the third quarter to up the advantage to nine (40-31). Lincoln followed with an 18-7 stretch to take the lead, 49-47, with 3:22 on the clock. The Lions maintained a two-point edge (55-53) entering the fourth.

Lincoln began the final stanza with a layup to increase the cushion to four (57-53) but the Rams answered with nine of the next 11 to go in front by three (62-59). The Lions tied it with a three before Jefferson went back ahead with a layup. Lincoln then scored the next seven points to take a 69-64 lead with 2:53 remaining.

The Rams started to rally beginning with
Cassie Murphy's layup at the 2:14 mark. The Lions then missed a layup but grabbed the rebound. However,
Sam Yencha blocked a second layup attempt and
Morgan Robinson converted a three-point play with a layup and foul shot to even the score at 69 (1:23).

After each team turned the ball over,
Sabria Lytes denied a Lincoln layup attempt and McCann was fouled on the ensuing Rams' possession. She went 1-for-2 at the line to give Jefferson the lead, 70-69, with 10 seconds left. Lytes then came up with another huge block on the other end to preserve the victory.
