PHILADELPHIA - Georgian Court outscored the Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (9-3, 2-1 CACC), 18-11, in the third quarter and held on for a 64-61 win at the Gallagher Center on Wednesday evening.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams tallied the first four points of the contest but the Lions followed with 10 of the next 16 to even the score at 10 with 1:33 left in the opening quarter. Jefferson made a free throw with 12 seconds remaining and took a one-point edge (11-10) into the second.

The Rams began the second with a jumper to up the lead to three (13-10) before GCU went on an 8-2 run to take an 18-15 advantage. Jefferson answered with nine of the next 12 to go in front 24-21 with 2:24 on the clock. The Lions scored five points to jump ahead before the Rams closed the half with a jumper to make it a 26-26 tie at the break.

Jefferson started the third period with a three-pointer but Georgian Court took over with a 16-4 surge to make it 42-33 with 2:31 left. It was a seven-point game (44-37) entering the final frame.

The Lions netted four points to start the fourth quarter for their largest lead at 11 (48-37). The Rams got back in it with an 11-5 stretch to close the gap to five (53-48) with 5:22 to go. Four different players scored in the run. A layup with 3:09 left got Jefferson within two (56-54) but GCU responded with five in a row to increase the margin to seven (61-54).

It was still a seven-point game (63-56) with under a minute remaining.
Emily Keehfuss hit a triple for the Rams then
Morgan Robinson recorded a steal and a layup to get her team within two (63-61) with 20 ticks on the clock. The Lions turned the ball over again but made up for it with a block on the defensive end. After a foul shot made the score 64-61, Jefferson had one final opportunity to tie it but Georgian Court came up with another block on the last shot to seal the victory.
