WATERBURY, Conn. – Kiery Spatz scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick in the 82
nd minute to give the Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (10-4-1, 8-1-1 CACC) a 2-1 victory at Post (8-7-1, 6-3-1 CACC) on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams had early opportunities in the opening 10 minutes but rang two shots off the post. The Eagles countered and scored the first goal of the contest in the 17
th minute. Jefferson's misfortune continued as a shot hit the crossbar in the 24
th minute. The Rams had a 6-4 advantage in shots during the period but trailed 1-0 at halftime.
Jefferson persisted in the second half and found the back of the net with its fifth shot of the frame.
Grace Kenville scored her second goal of the season to even the score in the 65
th minute.
The Rams continued to control play and drew a foul inside the box late in the game. Spatz converted the penalty kick, finding the lower left corner for her fourth tally of the year, to put the Rams ahead with 8:53 to go. Post recorded three shots in the final minutes but goalkeeper
Jaclyn Martino did not allow the ball past her.

CACC PLAYOFF PICTURE
Jefferson is locked into the second seed for the CACC Tournament with one game remaining in the regular season. The Rams will host a quarterfinal game on Monday, October 31
st against an opponent to be determined as there is a multi-team battle for seeding at the bottom of the bracket.
