LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (7-1) picked up a 69-49 victory at Lincoln (3-4) in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams trailed 3-2 early before going on a 7-0 run to take a 9-3 lead. Cassie Murphy scored four points and Haley Meinel added three. However, the Lions answered with eight of the next 10 to even the score at 11 with 4:02 left in the opening quarter. Jefferson ended the period with an 8-3 stretch to take a 19-14 advantage into the second. Morgan Robinson and Sam Yencha each tallied four points during the run.
 
Lincoln began the second quarter with an 8-2 surge to go ahead 22-21. The Rams responded with 11 straight points to regain the upper hand, 32-22, with 3:52 remaining. Four different players contributed to the rally. The margin remained 10 (37-27) at halftime.
 
Jefferson upped its cushion to 16 (43-27) with a 6-0 start to the third quarter. The Rams held a comfortable lead throughout the frame, leading by at least 13 and by as many as 18. Jefferson took a 56-38 advantage into the final stanza, where the Rams continued to stifle the Lions. Lincoln only came within 15 as Jefferson cruised to the victory.

NOTES
- Cassie Murphy recorded her third career double-double while Sam Yencha posted her sixth, and fourth of the season, with her 16 rebounds going down as a career high.
- The Rams countered a season-high 23 turnovers and a season-low two three-pointers by outrebounding the Lions, 37-32, and limiting Lincoln to 27.3% shooting. The Lions also committed 25 turnovers.
- It was Jefferson's fifth consecutive victory against Lincoln.
