Three Early Goals Dooms Women's Soccer at Molloy
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – After three early goals in the first 13 minutes of the game, the Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (9-3-2) were unable to get out of the deficit, falling to Molloy University (7-4-5) in non-conference action this Wednesday afternoon.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Lions had a goal in the 6
th minute as a deflection turn shot from 25 yards out found the back of the net to give Molloy a 1-0 lead. They would add another goal in the 10
th minute as a free kick from 35 yards out just went over the Rams head, falling into the net for a 2-0 advantage for the Lions. Molloy would cap their scoring as they would be rewarded a penalty kick, with the Lions converting on the attempt and making their lead 3-0 in just the 13
th minute of the game.
The Rams would only take three shots in the first half. Jefferson would attempt four in the second, but Molloy would hold onto their lead to the end of the break and match to win 3-0.
