NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Jefferson University's Erik Timko (men's basketball) and Jess Molen (volleyball) were selected the 2022-23 CACC Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year respectively by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

The pair mark the ninth and 10th CACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honorees in Jefferson history and it is the second time that the Rams have boasted both the Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the same season (2014-15). The duo will now move on for consideration for the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Regional Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, which will be announced later this summer.

Timko was the CACC Player of the Year and a consensus First Team All-Region selection. He was chosen to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team, becoming just the third First Team Academic All-American in school history across all sports. Timko helped lead Jefferson to the CACC Final and earned All-Tournament honors. He was named a D2CIDA National Player of the Week, and to the CACC All-Academic and PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Teams.

Molen earned D2CCA East Region Player of the Year and CACC Player of the Year honors after leading the Rams to their second consecutive CACC title. A consensus First Team All-East Region honoree, she also was chosen to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team. Molen garnered the CACC Top XVII Award for having the highest cumulative GPA at the championship site and was also the CACC Tournament MVP. In addition, she was tabbed the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Women's Volleyball Performer of the Year.

To be eligible for CACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the nominee must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate credentials, and at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). The nominee must have reached at least sophomore status both athletically and academically, and have completed at least one full academic year at the institution.
