PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University has added Bob Baginski as Head Softball Coach, Assistant Vice President for Athletics Tom Shirley announced on Monday.
Aaron Robinson was hired for the position earlier this summer, but had to step down for personal reasons. Baginski brings nearly two decades of experience at the high school and youth levels to the Rams' program.
"Bob was one of our top candidates during our coaching search this summer and we are glad to bring him on board," said Shirley. "His experience leading programs at multiple levels and getting the best out of his players will be beneficial to our softball student-athletes."
Most recently, Baginski was the head coach at Abington High School, where he led the program to the district playoffs for the first time since 2015. Baginski's squads garnered a dozen All-League selections and multiple players went on to continue their careers at the collegiate level. Off the field, he created fundraising events to generate revenue for the program, including clinics for local youth. Baginski was also an assistant coach for the Suburban One League team at the Carpenter Cup, helping the squad take third in 2022.
Prior to Abington, Baginski was a head coach for the eXpress Softball Club in Ambler from 2016-21. He had stints leading the 14U, 16U, and 18U squads while with the club. Several players were recruited by college programs with multiple continuing their careers in the collegiate ranks. Baginski's teams claimed two tournament titles with a total of nine top-two finishes. His 14U unit placed 13
th at the 2017 national championships. Baginski also has coached at the youth level with the Springfield Township and Upper Dublin leagues.
Baginski holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Delaware Valley University.
