Jefferson Men's Soccer Loses to Queens College 0-2  

FLUSHING, NY - Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer (7-2-2) competed against Queens College, NY (7-4) from the East Coast Conference on Wednesday, October 9. 


WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Jefferson Rams and Queens College Knights were evenly matched in their match today with strong offense from both teams  

• In the first half Gianluca Calvosa, and Kalvin Matischak put up aggressive shots for the Rams, and David Bollman takes a shot on goal that is missed low in the center  

• At the 32:42 minute Harry Cookes scores a high right corner goal, putting the knights 1-0 against the Rams 

• The Rams defense held strong blocking a shot from Bastian, Engeli  

• Cooke scores another goal for the Knights at the 35:36 minute, assisted by Miguel Soto Gonzalez to put them up 2-0 

• John Nelson gets his third save in the first half after a shot from Tommy Wagner, leaving the Knights in the lead heading into the second half  

• The second half begins as both teams continue to battle  

• Nelson saves the Knights first shot at the 47:03 minute, claiming his first of five saves for the second half  

• Kai Mangahas takes his first shot of the game that gets blocked, and Matischak puts up another two shots as well, both missed high towards the end of the half  

• The game ends with Queens College holding onto the 2-0 victory over Jefferson
