Five Rams Score in Double-Digits Against Felician; #6/7 Jefferson Earns 10th Straight Win


RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Five different Rams score in double-digits to help the #6/7 ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (19-1, 9-0) come back from being down 15-10 in the first quarter and score 31 in the second to stay undefeated in conference action and win their 10th straight contest in a 68-48 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup over Felician University (7-13, 7-4) in Saturday afternoon competition. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
The Golden Falcons had the early advantage over the Rams, outscoring them 15-10. Both teams would trade buckets to have it 6-6, but a 9-2 run helped Felician take the advantage. Emma Kuczynski would have four points in the quarter to help cut the Golden Falcons lead to 15-10. 

The Rams would waste no time pushing to take the lead, scoring the first 11 points with Cassie Murphy, Morgan Robinson, and Haley Meinel all getting their shots in the basket. Sam Yencha would conclude the run with an and-one trip that put Jefferson up 21-15. Meinel would then add an and-one while Emily Keehfuss hit a three to keep the lead up. Murphy and Meinel would make their shots, Emily Spratt hit one of her free throws, and Keehfuss made two more three to send the Rams into the break up 41-23. 

Felician would try and get back in the third quarter, scoring 10 points to the Rams nine. Mar Vidal would have the first four points in the quarter while Ana Valle and Adrian Perez made their shots for the Golden Falcons. Murphy would have a free throw made and Robinson would hit a layup to have the Rams head into the fourth up 50-33. 

Robinson would make her shot and a Yencha and-one put the Rams up 58-33. Kuczynski, Spratt, Keehfuss, and Jordyn Thomas would all score in the fourth as Jefferson concluded the game with a 68-48 win.

Jefferson will return to the Gallagher Center on Tuesday, February 6 to take on in-town rival Chestnut Hill College at 6 p.m. in CACC competition.
