Women's Basketball Rolls Over Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE. - Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (9-5, 3-2) went on the road and dominated the Wildcats to take their second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory as the Rams defeated Wilmington University (0-15, 0-4) 85-47 in Tuesday night action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Jefferson got out to a definitive lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 27-11 

• They jumped out to an early 18-3 run that saw Emily Spratt score 9 of her 18-point night in the first 6 minutes. Emma Kuczynski put up five points on that spree while Gabby Recinto delivered four points.  

• Cassie Murphy, Kaci Mikulski, and Tori Nigro all added points to end the first quarter 

• Second quarter saw a slower game as the Rams still scored 14 points over Wilmington's eight 

• Mikulski showed up in the second, putting up eight of her career-high 20 points in the quarter in the first two minutes, hitting back-to-back threes. Kuczynski nailed her own show from beyond the arc and a jumper on the floor as they went into the break ahead 41-19 

• Jefferson kept their foot on the grass, adding 31 points in the third quarter. A 21-0 run cemented their dominance with Spratt contributing to nine of those points. Mikulski hit another back-to-back shots from beyond the arc while Kuczynski, Murphy, and Nigro all had a basket during that stretch. Spratt had nine points in the quarter while Mikulski, Murphy, and Kuczynski added six apiece. Nigro and Recinto had two points from their shots 

• The fourth saw Jefferson put up 13 points. Mikulski added another three on the day, making it 6-8 through the game. Kaya Burkhart put up four points in the final quarter, with Recinto, Jordyn Thomas, and Janice Ashong having two apiece
