Women's Basketball Escapes Caldwell with CACC Win
CALDWELL, N.J. – On a night where defense held strong and neither squad was able to break over 50 points, the Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (16-6, 10-2) held onto a 48-45 win against Caldwell University (12-10, 6-5) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Rams shot 38.8% on the floor that day, holding the advantage over the Cougars 30.2 shooting percentage.
- Game was close for both teams, with Caldwell going up by one at the break and the Rams swinging it around in the third quarter
- The Cougars came back in the fourth and trailed by two points with 1:45 to go. Jefferson held on strong, getting a free throw at the end to make it 48-45. A missed three by Caldwell secured the Rams CACC victory
- Cassie Murphy led the team with 14 points on the day. Emily Spratt was second with 12, followed by Emma Kuczynski and Gabby Recinto as they produced eight apiece.
