Fritz Named All-America Second Team; Bartman Named CRCA East Region Coach of the Year
WILMINGTON, Del. – Thomas Jefferson University women's rowing earned a few recognitions last week as
Cecily Fritz was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-America Second Team while head coach
Michiel Bartman earned CRCA East Region Coach of the Year honors as well as East Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
Fritz takes Second Team All-America as she was a staple in the Varsity 8 boat for the Rams. She helped the Rams place fifth in the NCAA Championships as the edged out Central Oklahoma in the Petite Final. Fritz was on the boat for Jefferson as they earned second in the Varsity 8 race at the Knecht Cup and in the 1V8 competition at Battle at Brigantine.
Bartman secures his first coaching award alongside his coaching staff
Jeff Cutler and
Sara Benedict-Augustine as he led the Rams to their sixth NCAA Championship appearance in school history. He had the Rams place second in women's pair at the Schuylkill Regatta as well as second in the V8 in the Knecht Cup and Battle at Brigantine. Jefferson secured first in the Novice 4 race at the Knecht Cup as well while being third in the Varsity 4. The Rams were the sole representative in the Division II Rowing Championships.
