Elhendawy Sinks Wilmington, Jefferson Clinches Home Field

The Rams will play their CACC Postseason games at Ravenhill Field this year prior to the CACC Championship

NEWARK, Del. (Oct. 27, 2026) – Sophomore JR Sexton (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada / St. Mary's Kitchener) came up big with 13 stops and senior Mohamed Elhendawy (West Chester, Pa. / Bayard Rustin) delivered the decisive blow as the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory at Wilmington University in Tuesday's regular-season finale.

The victory, over the top-ranked CACC team nonetheless, gives the Rams sole possession of the No. 2 seed heading into this year's CACC Tournament. They will also enter the tournament as, bar none, the hottest CACC team in the field of eight with just one defeat to their name since Sept. 19.

Senior Cole McEvoy (Gap, Pa. / Pequea Valley) helped drive Jefferson's attack finishing with a team-high five shots, including three on net. He nearly broke through in the 63rd minute when a prime scoring chance caught the left post.

Jefferson would go on to find the winner five minutes later, when Elhendawy struck an arc'ing shot from the right side off an assist from freshman Jude Clymer (Quakertown, Pa. / Faith Christian). The Rams finished with eight of their 13 shots on target.

Sexton, the reigning CACC Goalkeeper of the Week, added nine saves after halftime, anchoring Jefferson's defensive effort as the Rams protected their lead through the final whistle to secure the conference victory.

Head Coach Jason Rocha and the Rams return to Ravenhill Field to face seventh-seeded Post University in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament on Saturday, October 31. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
