Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Sept. 9, 2026) – The Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team opened the 2026-27 season against a tough Queens College team, delivering competitive, action-packed tennis over a match that lacked any kind of dull moment.
While the Rams ultimately came up on the short end of things, they should have plenty of momentum to carry into the rest of what awaits them this fall. Jefferson's singles and doubles ace
Anouk Oderkerk came away with victories in both her matches, first teaming with junior
Alycia Veroux to pick up a decisive 6-2 victory at first doubles. Oderkerk then went on to rally from a set down to defeat the Knights' top singles player, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 -- a statement win as she looks to cement her place as potentially the top player in the Division II East Region.
Elsewhere, the Rams received quality contributions down the lineup with
Kalomoira Ralli and
Isabella Lazzerini, a pair of talented freshman, earning wins in their intercollegiate debuts. The match came down to sophomore
Marely Alvarado at sixth singles, with the Jefferson sophomore coming up just short in the longest match of the day.
Head Coach
Fred Perrin and the Rams will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 15 when they host the University of District of Columbia for a 2 p.m. match.
