Rams blanked by No. 5 West Chester, 12-0

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University baseball was defeated by visiting No. 5 West Chester, 12-0, in a non-conference match-up Tuesday afternoon on Alumni Field.


The Rams (6-24) had two hits in the contest, one from first baseman Jordan Force and the other by second baseman Kevin Giambri.


Center fielder Mike Raimo, third baseman Jordan Wlodarczyk and left fielder Rob Lessig recorded two-hits games for West Chester (23-1), who had 12 overall.


Golden Rams' starting pitcher Matt McAllister was the winner after throwing six innings of two-hit ball. McAllister struck out four.


Nick Harper suffered the loss, allowing 10 runs in 5.2 innings and fanning five.


West Chester took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Wlodarczyk and second baseman Joe Wendle.


Right fielder Jack Provine drove in two more runs in the second with a double to left field. Designated hitter Matt Baer hit a three-run homer, part of a four-run third to make the score 8-0.


The Golden Rams tacked on two runs in the sixth, one coming on a RBI single by Wlodarczyk. West Chester scored its final two runs in the ninth inning.


Philadelphia returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a doubleheader at the University of the Sciences Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
