POMONA, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team (4-13, 1-2 CACC) fell on Sunday night to the Dominican Chargers (2-14, 1-0 CACC) from Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona, N.Y. by a final of 7-6. The teams did not play the second game of the scheduled doubleheader which will now be rescheduled for a later date.
SUNDAY GAME ONE – L, 7-6
The Rams dropped game one to the Chargers on Sunday evening by a final of 7-6. Jefferson scored runs in the first and second to go up 2-0 before Dominican tied the game in the bottom of the third.
The Chargers then took the lead with a run in the fifth, 3-2, before the Rams' four-run seventh, 6-3. Three runs in the bottom half of the inning tied it back up before Dominican scored the go-ahead run in the eighth to win 7-6.
Timothy Brodhag went 2-for-5 with two RBI including an RBI groundout in the first and an RBI double in the seventh.
Ryan Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with an RBI single in the seventh.
The Rams managed nine hits in the outing.
In a bases load jam, Jake Goldberg relieved Hayes in the seventh and got an out before C.J. Kilgarriff (L, 1-3) pitched the final 1.2 innings. Two walks and a hit by pitch brought home three runs in the seventh for the Chargers to tie the game.
Dominican scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth on an error by the Rams, who committed three in the game.

Jefferson Baseball returns to action with a home doubleheader with the Wilmington Wildcats on Wednesday, March 28 from Alumni Field at 1 p.m. Game one of the doubleheader will be the Bill Giles Invitational First Round Game.
