PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team fell short of making the CACC Tournament in 2018. The season was highlighted by the accomplishments of senior first baseman Brandon Quaranta who earned numerous conference and regional accolades.
After starting the season 3-11 and facing tough nonconference opponents including then-No. 7 St. Thomas Aquinas, Le Moyne and Shippensburg, the Rams went 15-17 during conference play. The season all came down to the final regular-season game. After the second leg of a senior day home doubleheader on April 27 was postponed, Jefferson and Goldey-Beacom made up the game on Monday, April 30. The winner advanced to the CACC Tournament. Goldey-Beacom used two big innings to get in front early to advance to the postseason, ending the Rams' 2018 season.
