PHILADELPHIA - The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team recently finished compiling its 2019 regular-season schedule.
The Rams will play 48 games including 18 at home, 21 away and nine at a neutral site.
Jefferson will start the campaign with 11 games away from East Falls. The Rams head to Dinwiddie, Va. for the Dinwiddie Classic on Feb. 22-24, where they will face East Stroudsburg, West Chester and Slippery Rock. The following weekend, Jefferson visits East Stroudsburg for a three-game set versus Saint Rose, American International and the host Warriors. After a contest at West Chester on March 6, the baseball team travels to Cary, N.C. to compete in the D-II Challenge vs. Cancer on March 8-10. The Rams' opponents include Findlay, New Haven and LIU Post.
Jefferson's home opener is a doubleheader versus Le Moyne on Wednesday, March 13. The Rams trek to Salem (W.Va.) for a three-game series on March 15-17 before beginning conference play at home versus Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday, March 20. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, April 27 with a home twin bill against Post. Overall, Jefferson's opponents recorded a .505 winning percentage in 2018 with four reaching NCAA Regional play.
Following the regular season, the top four teams in each division qualify for the CACC Tournament. The tournament will begin on Saturday, May 4 with first-round play-in games. The first-round winners advance to the double elimination stage on May 9-11 at Post University.
The Rams went 18-28 in 2018 with a 15-17 CACC mark. They finished fifth in the South Division. Jefferson led the conference in home runs (36) and ranked second in walks (222) and on-base percentage (.388), tied for second in extra-base hits (121) and third in slugging percentage (.413).
