Baseball Selected Fifth In CACC South Division By Conference Coaches

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC South Division in the conference's 2019 preseason coaches poll.

The Rams received 28 points and garnered one first-place vote. Wilmington (Del.) (68), Felician (62) and Chestnut Hill (42) claimed the top three spots.

Jefferson went 18-28 in 2018 with a 15-17 CACC mark. They finished fifth in the South Division. Jefferson led the conference in home runs (36) and ranked second in walks (222) and on-base percentage (.388), tied for second in extra-base hits (121) and third in slugging percentage (.413).

The baseball team begins the campaign on Friday, February 22 versus East Stroudsburg in Sutherland, Va. The Rams play 11 games on the road before their home opener against Le Moyne on Wednesday, March 13.
