Baseball Drops Contest Versus No. 21 West Chester

ASTON, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team (0-3) fell to No. 21 West Chester (3-0), 18-0 on Sunday night at the MSI Sports Village.

The Golden Rams tallied one run in the first and second innings, four in the third, three in the fourth, five in the sixth and four in the seventh.

The Rams scattered five hits. Jefferson had three runners reach second base but was unable to push a run across. The Rams struggled to find consistency on defense as West Chester tallied eight unearned runs.

Senior Matt McGee and sophomore Arturo Figueroa each went 2-for-3 at the plate for Jefferson.

The Rams head to East Stroudsburg for a trio of games on March 1-3. Jefferson will take on Saint Rose, American International and East Stroudsburg on the weekend trip.
