EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team (0-4) fell at East Stroudsburg (7-1), 6-2 in a non-conference game on Sunday.
The two teams combined for just nine hits on the day. The Warriors struck for three runs in the opening frame on an RBI single, run-scoring double and a balk. The Rams got on the board in the second when junior Robert Wood knocked in sophomore Timothy Lubrano with a base hit.
ESU added a run in the third on single to center before Jefferson got back within two in the fourth. Senior Timothy Brodhag stole third and scored on an error.
The Warriors added two insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth via a miscue by the Rams. The ESU pitching staff frustrated Jefferson for the rest of the afternoon, allowing just three baserunners after the fourth.
The Rams visit nationally-ranked West Chester on Wednesday, March 6. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
