The Setters took the lead in the second on a balk and added two runs in the fourth on a home run to take a 3-1 lead. However, Jefferson came back with four in the bottom of the inning to seize the advantage. Senior Christopher Lorenzo drew a bases-loaded walk then sophomore Efrain Santiago cleared the bases with a three-run double.

The Pioneers got the scoring started in the second, tallying three runs on a pair of homers. McGee responded with a long ball of his own to lead off Jefferson's half of the inning. The Rams got within one when Brodhag doubled in Wood in the third.
LIU Post increased the advantage to 6-2 with three runs in the fifth. Meanwhile, the Pioneers' staff settled in and frustrated the Jefferson offense, as the Rams had just five baserunners after the third inning. LIU Post added an insurance run in the ninth on a double.
