Baseball Heads to Post For CACC Double-Elimination Tournament

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) baseball team (19-29) will compete for the CACC Championship this weekend as the final four teams play a double-elimination tournament on May 9-11 at Post.

HOW TO WATCH
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children, senior citizens and students with valid college ID. Children under the age of 3 will be admitted for free.

In addition, all championship competition will be streamed live on the CACC Network with play-by-play commentary. Streams are available online and via the CACC Network app on your streaming device (Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, Android TV).

First Round Games on May 4
Jefferson 6, Post 3
The Rams rallied for four runs in the ninth inning and went ahead on a three-run double by senior Timothy Brodhag to defeat Post. Junior Jack Galligan pitched five scoreless innings and sophomore Matt Bukavich kept the Eagles off the board in the final 1.2 frames to earn the win.

Wilmington (Del.) 14, Nyack 3
The Wildcats broke the game open with a four-run fifth and six-run sixth en route to a 14-3 rout of Nyack. Senior Luke Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two walks, four RBI and four runs. Senior Max Carney had three hits and four RBI. Junior Dan Hyatt tossed seven innings and allowed just two unearned runs.

Dominican (N.Y.) 6, Chestnut Hill 4
The Chargers scored four first-inning runs and held off Chestnut Hill for the first-round victory. Seniors Anthony Bartolomei and Justin Decker each hit a double and had three and two RBI respectively to lead the offense. Senior John-Michael Broderick pitched 4.2 innings in relief and allowed just one hit to lock down the win.

Bloomfield 5, Felician 4
The Bears scored three runs in the eighth inning to take the lead and withstood a Felician rally in the ninth to pull off the upset over the top-seeded Golden Falcons. Senior Khalid Legette and junior Kendon Strachan each had two hits and one RBI. Freshman Wilfrido Valenzuela pitched six innings of one-run ball.
